So, I was reading in Acts this morning and was struggling with finding some application from the passage. It was about Paul being placed on trial, and the fact that he was a Roman citizen kept him alive. I also noticed that it talked about how the centurian was looking over the accusations and realized that they didn't hold any weight, and how "there was no charge against him that death or imprisonment." (24:29) This got me thinking about a message that I heard this Sunday at a friend's church. The pastor was preaching from Isaiah, and how God's covenant of peace and never judging his people again (the flood) is the covenant that Jesus' shed blood has over his people. You see, we aren't judged by our sins anymore. We are set free. We are no longer held in bondage. The accusations no longer hold any weight. Check out what Isaiah 54:14-17 says. "In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you. "See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc; no weapon formed against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me," declares the Lord. " I find such beauty and peace in this passage. Our father has given us this heritage. He has given us this promise, and he even speaks it directly (notice the quotations). This is exactly who we are. This is truth.
Grace and peace,
David

Some lyrics for my life
Deepest oceans of despair
This vast and somber
Charcoal night of space
Have you given up yet?
What hope lingers in the crevasses and corners of your soul?
I know you
You haven't given up yet
You are brave in this darkness, Saint Saturn
Sometimes the bravest thing of all is to hope
God bless.
This vast and somber
Charcoal night of space
Have you given up yet?
What hope lingers in the crevasses and corners of your soul?
I know you
You haven't given up yet
You are brave in this darkness, Saint Saturn
Sometimes the bravest thing of all is to hope
Jesus Christ, Light of the World
You never did forget me
and when i bled in darkness, You held
me
still held me
when desparate nights i cursed You
You loved me, still loved me
Jesus Christ, You dry the tears
You break my heart of stone
Your words are life
cut marrow through
the darkness, to the bone
a heart of flesh You gave me
only You can save me
Savior
Daylight
I am coming home
God bless.
